About Edward

Edward Baker has been selling homes around Auckland for 15 years and is a well-known figure to many locals, some who have bought and sold with him multiple times. As part of this vibrant, culturally diverse community, Edward is passionately committed to being closely involved as a local resident. As a dedicated family man himself understands how challenging it can be to move home and adapt to changes in circumstances that can trigger a move.

Edward has enjoyed a long and respected past career in sales. No stranger to building positive relationships, he initially worked in the insurance industry before serving in Australia as a missionary. On his return he worked in telecommunications, completing a 10-year career in 2006 with Vodafone as their top salesperson nationwide. He launched his real estate career with Ray White Manukau and after working for another brand for 10 years came full circle returning to Ray White in 2021 reconnecting with old friends and colleagues.

Edward has an altruistic approach to securing the best possible price for his vendors. He proactively seeks out other agents to conjunct, acknowledging that the right buyer for his client’s property is the priority. He is immensely loyal, genuine and always does what’s in the best interest for his client. No stone is left unturned – even it that perfect stone is across the road with the competition.  Open and transparent, Edward is incredibly caring and has innate ethics and a faith that he walks in and lives by. He’s details-oriented and yet a big-picture thinker born out of past life in the corporate world where meeting the expectations of stakeholders was critical.

Edward lives in Flat Bush with his wife and their large extended whanau. He loves nothing better than hanging with them in his spare time and keeping up with all their activities.

Questions

The things sellers ask Edward first.

Is the appraisal really free?
Yes — there's no cost and no obligation. Edward will walk you through what your property could achieve, based on recent local sales and current buyer demand.
What happens after I submit the form?
Edward will be in touch personally, usually within a business day, to arrange a time that suits you — over the phone or in person at your property.
Am I committing to anything?
No. An appraisal is information, not a commitment — there's no obligation to list with Edward, and none to sell at all. Plenty of people ask for one simply to understand where the market sits before deciding anything.
What's the difference between an appraisal and a valuation?
An appraisal is provided free by a licensed salesperson and reflects what the market is likely to pay right now. A registered valuation is a paid, formal assessment by an independent registered valuer, and is what banks and courts rely on. Most people selling a home need an appraisal; a valuation is usually only needed for lending or legal reasons.
