Ray White A T Realty Group’s latest ‘Game Day’ auction event delivered more than $34.2 million in property sales across South Auckland, highlighting renewed buyer confidence and growing momentum in the Auckland property market.
With 56 properties brought to auction across Manukau, Manurewa, Māngere and Māngere Bridge, the event achieved a 70% clearance rate, with 39 properties sold on the day and more expected to be under contract shortly after.
Game Day continues to establish itself as one of Auckland’s most high-energy auction environments – bringing together serious buyers, committed sellers, and a concentrated window of opportunity.
A total of 278 registered bidders attended the event, placing 1,059 bids across the auctions – a clear signal of competitive buyer activity.
Ray White A T Realty Director Adam Thomson said the scale of the event reflects both preparation and demand:
“We actually booked 74 auctions for Game Day – so much so that we had to roll a number into the following weeks.
Delivering 56 auctions over 10 hours, with seven sold prior, is a huge achievement.”
He added that success on the day is driven well before auction day arrives:
“It takes a full team effort, from our salespeople through to our management and admin team who support them every step of the way. Most importantly, none of this happens without the trust of our vendors.”
Top Sales and Standout Auctions
The highest sale of the day was achieved at 824 Redoubt Road, Alfriston, sold under the hammer for $3.555 million by Ray White Manukau agents James McGregor and Kris Khatri.
One of the most competitive auctions took place at 22 McInnes Road, Weymouth, led by Charlie and Liam Brothers, attracting an incredible 94 bids before selling for $895,000.
These results highlight the depth of buyer competition when properties are positioned in a high-performance auction environment.
Real Stories Behind the Sales
Beyond the numbers, Game Day continues to deliver meaningful outcomes for sellers.
A standout example was 113 Carruth Road, Papatoetoe, which sold under the hammer for $1.601 million after being held in the same family for 43 years.
Marketed by Jay Singh and Jay Le, the property held deep family significance – originally built by the owners and used as both a home and workplace.
“They had the family home at the front and ran the business out of the three-bay garage at the back,” Mr Singh said.
“They decided it’s time to sell and move into something smaller and more central.”
These moments reinforce the emotional and financial importance of getting the sales process right.
Momentum Building in the Auckland Property Market
Ray White Manukau Sales Manager Richie Lewis noted that the impact of Game Day extends beyond the final bid:
“The energy was noticeable from the first auction – and importantly, it didn’t end when the hammer fell.
Some of the most productive conversations happen around each auction.”
This ongoing engagement often leads to post-auction negotiations and additional sales – further strengthening overall results.
What’s Next: Expanding ‘The Day’ Into Auckland Central
Following continued success in South Auckland, Ray White A T Realty is now expanding its auction event model into the city.
Director Tom Rawson said the upcoming Auckland Central and Wynyard Quarter event will be a key milestone:
“What we’re seeing in South Auckland is momentum building through these events – and next week will be a really interesting test of that.
We’re 14 auction events in now, and each one has delivered for both buyers and sellers.”
Why Auction Events Like Game Day Are Driving Results
The success of Game Day reinforces a clear trend in the Auckland real estate market:
Concentrated buyer attention creates competition
Higher bidder numbers drive stronger sale prices
Auction-day energy extends into post-auction negotiations
Serious buyers remain active even after the event
For sellers, this creates a powerful window to achieve premium outcomes.
For buyers, it provides transparency, urgency, and real-time market insight.
