One of the most competitive auctions of the day was 38 McFadzean Drive, Blockhouse Bay, marketed by Ray White Manukau agents Monika Maynard and Aryaan Batra.

The property attracted 49 bids over just 11 minutes, with four active bidders competing before the home sold under the hammer for $1.68 million.

Vendor Sue Austin, who grew up in the home after it was built by her parents 63 years ago, said the sale marked the end of a meaningful chapter.

“My sister and I both were married and left the house, but we always came back to visit.
We had such a wonderful upbringing. It was always a happy house.
It will be very sorely missed, but we have all of the memories we can cherish.”

Ray White New Zealand head auctioneer Sam Steele described the result as a strong indicator of the year ahead.

“Forty-nine bids in eleven minutes is not just a strong result — it’s a clear indication of buyer confidence heading into 2026.”

The top result of the day was achieved at 401 Redoubt Road, Totara Park, which sold under the hammer for $1.853 million, marketed by James McGregor and Kris Khatri.
The auction recorded 27 bids over six minutes, with two active bidders competing strongly.

Two properties also shared the highest number of registered bidders, with 14 registered bidders each:

  • 9 Samara Place, Clendon Park, marketed by Amy Nguyen

  • 16 Hamilton Road, Papatoetoe, marketed by Ben Palavi
